Jewish Ghetto & Tiberina Island

Jewish Ghetto & Tiberina Island

What about this tour?

The Jewish community in Rome is very ancient, but the history of the Ghetto begins only in 1555 when Pope Paul IV imposed all of them to live within a restricted area and to follow very harsh rules. Today it is one of the most ancient Jewish districts of Europe, an area where you can find fascinating views of Rome with decadent ruins, curious fountains and the majestic Synagogue. We will also cross the bridge that connects this incredibly well-preserved district to the Tiberine island, home of countless myths and legends.
